This chapter shows an overview of the LEDs and connections on the router.

Structure and connections

Interface(s)
number
DescriptionNote
2WAN/LAN interfaces: four GE electrical interfaces (GE8 to GE11)
  • Used as LAN GE interfaces
  • Connector type RJ-45
3Console interface
  • Connector type RJ-45
4RESET button
  • This button is used to reset the router.
  • To reset and restore the FACTORY settings of the router, hold down the button for at least 30 seconds.

  • To reset the router, hold down the button for less than 5 seconds.

  • Resetting the router will interrupt services. Exercise caution when deciding to press this button.

5LAN interfaces: eight GE combo interfaces (GE0 to GE7)
  • Used as LAN interfaces
  • Connector type LC/PC or RJ-45 (combo port)
  • A GE combo interface consists of an optical Ethernet interface and an electrical Ethernet interface on the panel. The two interfaces have only one internal forwarding interface. When either of the Ethernet interfaces is working, the other interface is shut down.
  • GE optical modules (SFP) can be inserted into the eight optical interfaces.
6WAN/LAN interfaces: ten 10GE optical interfaces (10GE0 to 10GE9)
  • Connector type LC/PC
  • 10G or GE optical modules (SFP+ or SFP) can be inserted into these ten optical interfaces.
  • Interfaces 8 and 9 cannot be used as LAN Interfaces!
  • Interface 8 is reserved for ABR or Mobile Backup.
  • Interface 9 is used as WAN-Uplink.
  • Interfaces 4 and 5 can be used as link aggregation ports (LAG).
  • Interfaces 6 and 7 are reserved to be used for the sync link in case of EC-XL with sync link.
7Management interface
  • Connector type RJ-45
  • This interface must be used for the Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) process during the installation.
8USB interface 3.0 (not in use)

Description of the LEDs
