Welcome to Enterprise Connect. This user guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough of all core services and products. It is divided into the following chapters:

Overview


Enterprise Connect is based on software defined networking (SDN) and enables functions to be adjusted at the touch of a button. All services can be centrally configured, monitored and adjusted virtually in real time. Thanks to the user-friendly online dashboard, you can adjust the cloud-based, virtualised network services to perfectly suit your business requirements at any time. The solution can also be combined with classic Swisscom services such as LAN-I.

Service Connect Bus – The step into the new world of network management


With Enterprise Connect, a unique overall package for business customers based on the innovative SDN (softwaredefined networking) and NFV (network function virtualisation) technology has been developed. These technologies facilitate an optimum interplay of your ICT and make use of all benefits of digitisation. With Enterprise Connect you benefit not only from the individual modules but also from our Service Connect Bus. This facilitates compatibility with the existing services such as LAN-I that are still based on conventional technologies.

  • Company modules (SDN-/NFV-based) The company module includes dashboard and support services (help & support and additional services). Via the dashboard, you can order services online, request the status of the network and configure the network virtually in real time. It is based on software defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualisation (NFV) technology.

  • Location module (from best effort to 100% availability) For each location, you select the bandwidth and required service level. You can add and adjust services at any time via the dashboard. Only Swisscom has a DualNet for double network security. Mobile backup and Service Level Agreements from best effort up to 100% availability are also available.

  • Additional services Swisscom orders, configures and installs all services for you on location. We take on the project management and online training for Enterprise Connect. All outsourcing services are tailored to your needs.

  • Internet Choose your internet connection for each location. You also have the option of choosing a fixed IP address

  • Firewall Web filter rules and a dedicated firewall exist for each sub-network. Logging, reporting, anti-virus, site-to-site, VPN, logging and other optional features are available via dashboard.

  • Cloud Access The cloud connection for Swisscom cloud services, public clouds (AWS and Azure) and further cloud-based services. Swisscom is the only Swiss provider to offer a direct connection to Microsoft Azure with the ExpressRoute.

  • SIP Trunk For building multiple audio connections. You have complete control over the allocation of number ranges (DDIs). SD-WAN can be used to centralise the PBX infrastructure. The tariff plan is the same across all voice services.

  • Hosted PBX (available at a later time) Cloud telephony with virtualised phone systems hosted in Swisscom data centres in Switzerland. Physical telephone systems are obsolete. The tariff plan is the same across all voice services.

  • WAN (SD-WAN) Not only does SD-WAN make your network faster, it also makes it more secure. Location networking using any-to-any or any-to-one communication (hub & spoke: preconfigured data communication over a centralised architecture). Data communication can be encrypted using the E2E Encryption feature.The service is also suitable for hybrid solutions and for the parallel operation of SD-WAN and traditional WANs networks (Swisscom LAN-I).

  • Application-based routing ABR supports location- and application-specific routing: critical applications can be routed over other channels. This allows you to optimise your network and use cheaper bandwidths for less critical applications.

  • Managed LAN Choose your LAN service by location with optional SLA variants. Installed access points and switchers can be viewed using the dashboard.

  • PWLAN Swisscom is responsible for expanding your company network. We install, operate (including bandwidth management) and maintain your PWLAN.

  • Voice Line The telephony service for voice communication in your company. Analogue telephones can be integrated. Invoices and subscriptions can be viewed at any time via the dashboard.

  • Swisscom blue TV Switzerland’s most popular TV offering. Blue TV Public for bars and restaurants with five speakers per connection, blue TV Host for hotels and homes with up to 120 speakers.

Combined products & services


The following traditional services can be combined with Enterprise Connect and therefore be used as a hybrid service. This makes it easy to gradually upgrade to Enterprise Connect technology.

  • LAN-Interconenct The LAN-Interconnect service offers you a communications infrastructure for establishing office networks nationwide. In the future, diverse modules will enable individual customisation of solutions to your requirements, such as separate routing, DualNet for 100% stability, mobile backup, SecureCER for encrypted connections.

  • LAN Management The modular solution for your LAN at the location. Whether cordless or fixed-wire – with its Enterprise LAN service Swisscom offers a comprehensive Managed LAN (Local Area Network) service for small and medium-sized branches. You no longer have to look after your local communication networks within your locations. A standardised LAN network solution at a fixed monthly price.

  • IP Plus The modular solution for professional internet access. With an international internet backbone of its own, IP Plus Internet offers high data transmission rates and bandwidths of up to 10 Gbps can be chosen. Routing, peering and network capacity can be modified to cater to your requirements directly and quickly, and the response times (RTT) can be optimised. High-performance filters guarantee protection from any type of attacks and ensure highest levels of availability.

  • Managed Business Communication (MBC) The modern cloud communication solution with voice and data communication including Unified Communication integrated into a company network. You get a comprehensive, standardised business communications solution with a high level of self-help at an attractive monthly price with no upfront investment.

  • Remote Access Service (RAS) Employees and mobile communication terminals (e.g. in machines, industry terminals etc.) can exchange data with your company network or access applications securely from a mobile platform, regardless of location.

  • Security solutions The wide-ranging Swisscom portfolio provides a customized combination of solutions with different security components: Managed Firewall, encoding, Cloud Security, web and mail security, DDoS, MSS-i managed Network Security and many more.
