Configure NetStream, information and configuration

  • NetStream is a technology that collects IP packet statistics on a per-flow basis
  • NetStream is a commercial option and must be ordered separately together with SNMP.
  • The data traffic is analysed on the VLAN interface in the upstream and/or downstream direction.
  • A management loopback IP address is always required for NetStream, which must be configured in one VPN of the router.

Configure NetStream

  1. Under Settings, select NetStream Profile

  2. Click (+) and enter the following parameters:

    • Profile name
    • Host (IP Address) (enter the IP address of the NetStream Collector to which the data is to be sent)
    • UDP port (enter UDP destination port number)
    • NetStream Version (Version 9, cannot be changed at the moment)
    • Sampling Rate (enter the sampling rate, value 1 means all IP packets)
    • Save entries
  3. Under locations, click on the location where NetStream should be switched on

    • Activate Management Loopback, select a VPN from the location, enter an IP address for CPE 1 Loopback Address and confirm. Note: The IP address must be on a dedicated IP subnet
    • Activate NetStream, select a previously defined NetStream Profile and save
  4. Under locations, click on the previous location again

    • Under VLANs, open the VLAN where NetStream must be enabled
    • Click NetStream Enabled and select the traffic direction where the traffic data should be collected (Inbound, Outbound or Both), confirm and save
    • If necessary, repeat steps a) and b) for additional VLANs
  5. If required, repeat steps 3 and 4 for additional locations

  6. Submit configuration order
