Configure MTU size

The Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) for EC-M/L/XL is by default 1500 bytes, but can be configured per VLAN on the router. IP packets larger than the configured MTU size are fragmented or discarded according to the "Don't fragment" (DF) flag bit. The Maximum Segment Size (MSS) is independent of the configured MTU and is always 1098 bytes.

Configure

1. Under locations, select the location at which the MTU Size should be changed for a VLAN
   • Under VLANs, open the corresponding VLAN and for LAN IP MTU enter and confirm the value for the MTU size
   • If necessary, open further VLANs and change the MTU value
   • Save entries
2. If necessary, repeat step 1 for additional locations
3. Submit configuration order
