Configure QoS VPN-Cluster

  • The QoS VPN-Cluster feature is needed to configure more than 8 VPNs at the EC-M/L/XL location or if more than 32 VPNs are required in the agreement.
  • The minimum guaranteed bandwidth per QoS VPN Cluster is configurable for each location.
  • If the Quality-of-Service (QoS) option was ordered, it is automatically activated at the location for each QoS VPN Cluster.
  • The QoS VPN-Cluster function is not activated by default if the number of VPNs in the agreement is less than 32. However, it can be activated manually at any time.
  • When reaching 32 VPNs in the agreement, the QoS VPN-Custer function must be activated to configure further VPNs.
  • The QoS VPN-Cluster function must also be activated if more than 8 VPNs are to be configured at the location. Maximum parameters:
    • Maximum 32 QoS VPN-Clusters per agreement
    • Maximum 8 QoS VPN-Clusters per location
    • Total number of configurable VPNs is 250
    • A QoS VPN-Cluster can contain a maximum of 250 VPNs
  • Important note: A VPN can only be switched to another QoS VPN-Cluster if the VPN is no longer used at any location.

Configure QoS VPN-Cluster​

Activate QoS VPN-Cluster function​

  1. Under Settings, Network Settings, activate the QoS VPN-Cluster function and save
  2. Under VPN, the assignment to the QoS VPN-Cluster is now visible for each VPN already configured

Create a new QoS VPN-Cluster​

  1. Under VPN, click on QoS VPN-Cluster
  2. Click on + Create QoS VPN-Cluster, under QoS VPN-Cluster name enter name and confirm (a maximum of 32 QoS VPN-Clusters can be configured)
  3. Submit configuration order

Change QoS VPN-Cluster name​

  1. Under VPN, click on QoS VPN-Cluster
  2. Click on the QoS VPN-Cluster, under QoS VPN-Cluster name change the name and confirm the entry
  3. Submit configuration order

Create a new VPN and associate it with an existing QoS VPN-Cluster​

  1. Under VPN click on + VPN
  2. Under Name enter the VPN name and select an existing QoS VPN-Cluster from the drop-down selection under QoS VPN-Cluster or click on + Create QoS VPN-Cluster and create a new Cluster
  3. Confirm and save the entries
  4. Submit configuration order

Assign existing VPN to another QoS VPN-Cluster​

  1. Requirement: The VPN that you want to assign to another Cluster must not be used at any EC-M/L/XL location
  2. Under VPN, click on the VPN that you want to assign to another QoS VPN-Cluster
  3. From the QoS VPN-Cluster drop-down menu, select the new QoS VPN-Cluster or click + Create QoS VPN-Cluster and create a new Cluster
  4. Submit configuration order
