Apply predefined Firewall template

  • To activate the firewall and add rules, you must do this in the VPN that needs to be protected.
  • The weaker the firewall is set, the more connections are opened.
  • It is a stateful, IP and port-based firewall with four levels: strong, medium, weak and custom.
  • In addition, the firewall monitors the full state of the active network connections (stateful).
  • This means that stateful firewalls constantly analyse the full context of traffic and data packets attempting to penetrate a network, rather than looking at traffic and data packets in isolation.
  • Once a certain type of traffic has been released by a stateful firewall, it is added to a firewall table and can be transmitted more quickly into the protected network the next time it occurs.
  • The weaker the configuration of the firewall, the higher the number of open ports.
  • With the setting "Custom", all ports can be configured individually according to the customer's requirements.
  • The predefined firewall rule sets are listed in the table below.

Configuration


  1. Please choose Security Outbound Links select the corresponding VPN.
  2. Go to Firewall select Apply predefined Firewall template
  3. Select the corresponding template
  4. Confirm the entries with the Replace rules
  5. Save the configuration by clicking Confirm
  6. The configuration is activated by sending the shopping cart.
