Fixed public IP addresses, PTR records, Reverse DNS

  • In Order Management, you can purchase additional fixed public IP addresses for Enterprise Connect XS connections.

Overview of fixed public IP addresses


The overview contains details of the additionally purchased fixed public IP addresses.

  1. Select your Enterprise Connect XS location.
  2. At Public IP Addresses you find information about the fixed public IP addresses of this connection.
  • You can read out and configure PTR Entries/Reverse DNS in the area marked for this purpose.
  • For the configuration of PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol), you will need the necessary account information user name and password.

Current restrictions when changing fixed public IP addresses


At the moment, there are certain restrictions when you add and change fixed public IP addresses for Enterprise Connect XS.

  • Changing from without fixed public IP addresses to with fixed public IP addresses
  • Changing from one fixed public IP address block to another
  • Changing from with fixed public IP addresses to without fixed public IP addresses

Changing from «without fixed public IP addresses» to «with fixed public IP addresses»


  • If you order fixed public IP addresses in Order Management for a location that has not yet had any fixed public IP addresses, you must note the following:
  • If you enter the day’s date in Order Management, the order is executed immediately.
  • If you enter a later date, the order is executed at midnight on the specified date.
  • In order to successfully provision the fixed IP addresses, the Centro Business CPE must be restarted (do not reset CPE otherwise configuration will get lost).

In case of Mobile Access, the 5G Toolkit (not Centro Business CPE) must be reset using the Nokia GUI or physical reset button (press and hold for 5 seconds) in order to provision the fixed public IP addresses. The reset on the 5G Toolkit triggers the Centro Business CPE to restart - no additional restart of the Centro Business CPE is required.

Changing from one fixed public IP address block to another


If, in Order Management, you order different fixed public IP address for a location with fixed public IP addresses (e.g. a switch from 4-block to 8-block), you must note the following:

  • The new fixed public IP address block is not activated automatically, but you can activate it int the location tile of the Enterprise Connect Dashboard.
  • Activation causes an interruption of up to three minutes.
  • If you do not perform the activation within two months, it is carried out automatically at midnight, which also causes an interruption.

Changing from «with fixed public IP addresses» to «without fixed public IP addresses»


If you cancel a fixed public IP address block in Order Management, you must note the following:

  • If you enter the day’s date, the order is executed immediately.
  • If you enter a later date, the order is executed at midnight on the specified date.
  • Execution causes an interruption of up to three minutes. The connection to the Internet is restored automatically without manual intervention.
